Founded by Dr Dimitri Tvidiani and Dr David Tvildiani, AIETI Medical School came into its existence in the year 1992. This Medical School is a branch of David Tvildiani Medical University located at Tbilisi. Tbilisi is Georgia’s most ancient and vivacious capital city. It spreads out on each bank of the Mtkvari stream and is enclosed on three sides by mountains.AIETI Medical School is known to be the first non-governmental higher educational medical centre in Georgia which serves its students in English language.AIETI Medical School is providing MD undergraduate and PhD education programs in Health and Biomedicine. Its mission is to provide scientifically-oriented Higher Medical Education based on the best international experience.
AIETI is included in the WHO AVICENNA Directory for Medicine-BETA and into FAIMER International Medical Education Directory. It is a member of the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE), Association of Medical Schools in Europe (AMSE) and Organization for PhD Education in Biomedicine and Health Sciences in the European System (ORPHEUS). The diploma from this medical school has been authorised by countries of Asia, Europe, and Medical Examination Committees of the USA. It is listed under universities of abroad study in the Medical Council of India.
Campus is located next to the gorgeous valley of the Mtkvari river in the central part of the city. It’s location and the landscape provides with excellent environment for learning and students activities. The University makes students experience unique in the activities and programs organised within the university premises. It facilitates the formation of student councils, to enable them and govern themselves thereby giving them the opportunity to indulge in various activities within the campus. There is a Student Cafeteria within the University. Other than studies, there are various sports events and cultural festivals.
University main building consist of classrooms, auditoriums, library and other administrative facilities. Upper three floors serve as the dormitory and are organised to provide comfortable living to the students. The building is equipped with all modern HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air conditioning) and internet system.

The library contains over 5000 volumes representing almost all branches of medicine like up-to-date medical textbooks, manuals, guides, audio-video aids, which serve as, an integral part of the school academic curricula. Computers provide quick access to every book or any other item kept within the library funds.
The university has 476 graduates and 884 Georgian and foreign students studying diploma in medicine, diploma in medical and E-PD and doctoral programs. Around 271 employees are facilitating academic, administrative, other teaching and research at the university. There are 7 departments which cover 74 courses.
