V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University also known as The Karazin University was built up in November 1804 by an exceptionally celebrated and noticeable instructor V. N. Karazin. It is one of the major universities in Ukraine and has become the second oldest university in modern-day Ukraine after the University of Lviv. The college is situated in the city of Kharkiv in Ukraine. The rise of this college was an incredible wellspring of lift in the development of the city Kharkiv as a logical, scholastic and social focus in Ukraine. In 2004, the university marked the 200th anniversary of its foundation with large-scale celebrations, even minting a commemorative coin!

The University is one of the initiators of Magna Charta Universitatum (Bologna, 1988), the member of the International Association of Universities and the European University Association, the associated member of the European Nuclear Education Network, the co-founder of the Eurasian Universities Association and Association of Russian and Ukrainian Higher-Education Institutions-partners.
In 2019, according to QS World University Rankings, The Karazin University is the best university in Ukraine and 410th university in the world.Kharkiv National University holds the second place in Ukraine in volume of publications and citations in scientific database Scopus and the Hirsch index. Holding the best academic results in School of Medicine and School of Biology.
The V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University is comprised of the Main building, the Northern Building, the Central Scientific Building and the Students’ Campus. The university also runs three research institutes, a botanical garden, as well as the University History Museum, the Museum of Natural History and the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography. Today the University has 20 schools, 3 research institutes, library, botanical garden, 3 museums.
It provides teaching for 14,000 undergraduate students and 500 postgraduate students, employs more than 300 Full Professors (more than 90 % of them are Doctors of Sciences) and about 800 Associated Professors (more than 95 % of them are Candidates of Sciences that is the local equivalent of the PhD degree).
It is the only university in Ukraine that has trained and employed three Nobel Prize winners. Elie Mechnikov was awarded the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1908 and during his time at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, he completed his four-year degree in just two years. Lev Landau was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1962 and lectured at the university between 1932 and 1937. The final Nobel Prize winner who studied at the university was Simon Kuznets, who was awarded the 1971 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences.
The management of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University has kept up great relations with the researchers and teachers of medicinal resources of the colleges of different nations like U.S., Germany, Austria, Turkey, Spain, Britain and others. Employees of the college are also provided stipends of the International Science Foundation, NATO and others.
